- Oil filter is located in the lubrication system in the engine, it stopped the contamination from entering into lubrication system to reduce engine wear and optimize engine performance. Most of spin-on oil filters have both anti-drain back valves and bypass valves. Accessory Only! Installation : Clearn filter conact surface on filter mounting. Apply a thin film of engine oil to the surface of rubber ring before screwing on the filter. Start engine for 3 minutes and check for oil leaks. Refer to owner's manual for maintenance intervals of oil filter.
